I am a mom in her 30s who is obsessed with reading about people way younger than herself. In 2011, I read 242 books and I adored discovering new authors and characters to cheer for. My favorite books are contemporary YA, they just make me feel giddy and I wish there had been YA books like this when I was a teen. YA might be my favorite, but I can be spotted reading books about adults these days as well.

As I started getting obsessed with reading these past years, I have of course found many books I wanted to share with friends. I was surprised how easily I was getting friends who didn't read very much to read my suggestions and come back for more. I loved receiving feedback about their favorite books, and giggling about our favorite parts and characters. Suddenly I realized that I enjoyed SHARING my books more than I enjoyed ACTUALLY READING my books.

I wanted to start a book blog, but the more books I read, the more I find that I am rather critical and can be a hard judge for a book. I recognize that creative writing is an art form where an author can feel like they have put their soul out into the world for everyone to judge. I admire how brave that is for any author (even the ones that write totally lame books :) ). So I decided to start a blog that was 100% recommended books so I could get the word out only about the books I loved.

The only books I share on this blog are books that receive a 4 or 5 star review on my Goodreads.  So you know it is a favorite of mine. I also like to add a little bit of content sometimes so you can get a feel for what you are in store for as a reader.

My hope is that you find a book you love here, and come back again to find more amazing reads.

  1. I have LOVED all your recommendations! But how do you find the time to read?! I desperately want to read, but I have an almost 2 year old and it seems there is never time during the day, and after I put her to bed and crawl into my bed to read...I fall asleep!
